The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults is how persons inquire into and determine if they are called to live out their faith life members of the Roman Catholic Community.

Fully becoming a Catholic Christian is a lifelong journey, of which the RCIA process is a short piece. Becoming a Catholic is not something to be taken lightly. Each person must take the knowledge through the RCIA program and use it to develop a deeper relationship with Christ.

Therefore this journey at St. Anthony of Padua Parish takes from one to two years. While it seems long at the outset, we believe those interested in becoming Roman Catholic will find it worthy!

Groups consist of people who are:

  • Unbaptized (Catechumens)
  • Baptized into other Christian faiths (Candidates)
  • Baptized in the Catholic Church but have not received the Sacraments either of Reconciliation, Eucharist or Confirmation. (CCI – Catholics Completing Initiation)
